The Yakovlev Yak-141 is a Russian, prototype, on-board fighter with VTOL properties, intended to replace the Yak-38. A prototype flight took place in 1987, but in 1991 work on the project was stopped due to a lack of financial resources. The MNPK Soyuz R-79 engine was used as the drive unit. And it is the engine and its outlet nozzle that are still the most mysterious element of the entire project. It can be assumed that the nozzle performed a similar task as on the F-35B.
